the Harper government has never believed in climate change, instead they favour the oil industry - which gets over $700 million i "carbon credits" and will be allowed to INCREASE emissions, while Ontario gets $0 for closing a coal plant that would pernamently cut GHG in half

they will listen to the quasi-climate scientists of the oil and coal business before they prevail in the interest of the majority of Canadians

we've has been talking about climate accords for decades, yet only one place in the world has actually taken action to date on it... Europe

and sadly, if the rest of the industrialized world doesn't take it seriously (in order to provide the moral authority for China and India to act)... the city London may have to be abandoned when the Greenland ice sheet melts (and it will happen within this decade if nothing is done on a large immediate scale)

so will most of Florida and Louisiana, and all of Bangladesh, the Netherlands etc.
- ironic cause they are the only countries taking serious, aggressive actions towards this...

is it realistic to build a 25 meter high wall around Florida? no.
so the greatest tragedy of the universe will be:
To realize we have the enough intellect and technology can save us from a killer asteroid, but not enough intellect to save us from ourselves
